Michelle Young - University PD Advocate Panelist
BIO:
Sergeant Michelle Young is over patrol operations. In 2015, she moved into Crime Prevention, utilizing her extensive experience and knowledge to develop and implement innovative strategies to reduce crime and enhance public safety. Sergeant Young currently serves on the committee for Caring For Sexual Assault Survivors (C-SAS) and Comfort Cause for cancer patients. She serves as a Clemson University Police Department Partner Liaison to various divisions on and off campus, including the Office of Advocacy and Success, Title IX, Residential Life, Building Security Coordinators and the Office of Community and Ethical Standards.
Recognized for her leadership and dedication, Sergeant Young has received numerous commendations, including the Officer of the Year Award, for outstanding service and innovative contributions to crime prevention and victim services. She continues to lead her team, focusing on creating a safer, more connected community where citizens feel empowered to work alongside law enforcement to prevent crime.
Sergeant Young holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Anderson University and has completed advanced police, crime prevention and community engagement training. She is a trilogy graduate of the FBI-LEEDA Institute.
Sergeant Young is married, with four beautiful children and two WONDERFUL grandchildren.
